Mark is having lots of fun playing these house concerts. Lots of nice folks and good responses. Its a sort of venue where he can play many different types of tunes, from his different music periods, and make it work well.
As referenced on the home page, he draws on many years of playing piano in hotels and restaurants combined with years playing originals in a rockus band format combined with lots of years of practicing and writing tunes for no one. Throw in a fine arts degree along with 5 universities in which he has studied electronic music, a piano performer’s ARCT (classical music certificate here in Canada) and your sure to get an interesting musical evening.
So yes, he likes to mix up different styles and tell a little story about many of the pieces. Stir in lots of finger dexterity and the result is that your grandma’s piano (or his own fine sounding electric) will be tickled & singing like it hasn’t done in years!
